During a meeting with Iranian ambassadors to other countries in Tehran on Saturday, Mokhber said diplomatic missions in other countries can play a major role in Iran's plans to boost trade ties with the rest of the world.
Iran's ambassadors should be fully aware of the country's domestic potentials and capacities in various fields to create economic opportunities for the private sector and for the foreign parties, he said in the meeting.
Mokhber pointed out that Iran's embassies were mostly focused on political roles in the past, adding that they are now contributing more to the country's economic development plans.
He said embassies should follow up on the memoranda of understanding and economic agreements signed between Iran and other countries, adding they should also facilitate visits by officials of other countries to Iran to further expand economic ties.
